San Andrés Cholula, Puebla. On May 28, 2009, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a small spark fell into a container of paint thinner, starting a fire at the former factory of Productos Jumbo. Within two hours, the fire destroyed much of the manufacturing area.

only to find much of their dreams and hard work reduced to rubble and ashes

Santiago and Luis Gerardo Inman Peraldi, brothers and owners of Productos Jumbo, were attending a conference in Colombia when the fire broke out. Upon hearing the news, they took the first flight back to Mexico, only to find much of their dreams and hard work reduced to rubble and ashes. Fortunately, no employees were injured and neighboring homes were unharmed. Nevertheless, they had lost much of the company to which they had devoted their lives.

With great effort, they relocated temporarily and later built the current factory in San Lorenzo Almecatla. Today, they remember that day by holding an emergency drill involving administrative and manufacturing employees, applying the necessary incident prevention and protection measures. They also evacuate the facilities and put into practice what they have learned through regular training to reduce such risks.

Fifteen years ago, a spark could have ended everything. Instead, that experience became the beginning of an era of innovation and change, making Productos Jumbo a national and international benchmark in the manufacture of playground equipment, urban furniture and sports equipment for public and private spaces.

Today, Productos Jumbo continues to lead through ongoing product innovation, supported by its design studio and more than 50 years of experience bringing joy, play and healthy recreation to communities throughout the Americas.
